Red rainfall warning up over Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Sur due to Auring
PAGASA raised the red rainfall warning over Dinagat Islands and parts of Surigao del Sur on Sunday afternoon due to Tropical Storm Auring (international name: Dujuan).
The rainfall warning was hoisted at 2:40 p.m. over Dinagat Islands and Carrascal, Cantilan, Madrid, Carmen, Lanuza, Cortes, Tandag City, Tago, San Miguel, Tago, Bayabas, Marihatag and Cagwait in Surigao del Sur.
Torrential rains from Auring are expected in these areas in an hour which may extend to the next two hours.
PAGASA warned of serious flooding in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous areas.
The state weather bureau advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned to take the necessary actions, monitori the weather condition, and await the next advisory to be issued at 3:40 p.m.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 was raised over Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte including Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands, and the central portions of Eastern Samar. —KG, GMA News
