TD Isang unlikely to directly affect weather condition in the country —PAGASA
Tropical Depression Isang, which entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday morning, is unlikely to directly affect the country's weather condition, PAGASA said.
In its 11 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said latest forecast scenario for Isang showed that the hoisting of Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals over any land area is unlikely.
Isang will also be less likely to cause rough sea conditions within the coastal waters of the country.
Isang entered PAR at 10 a.m. on Thursday and is seen to remain far from the Philippine archipelago. It will move generally northwestward throughout the forecast period, based on the forecast track.
PAGASA said Isang may likely exit the PAR by Sunday morning or afternoon, and may remain a tropical depression. It may weaken into a low pressure area by Monday or possibly earlier.
As of 10 a.m., the center of Isang was estimated based on all available data at 1,410 km east of Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and central pressure of 1006 hPa.
It is moving northwestward at 25 km/h, with strong winds extending outwards up to 200 km from the center. —Jamil Santos/KBK, GMA News
