NCR, 45 other areas under 'danger level' heat index on May 15, 2026

The state weather bureau PAGASA on Thursday warned that 46 areas across the country will have a “danger level” heat index on Friday, May 15, 2026.

Based on the state weather bureau’s 5 p.m. bulletin, the synoptic stations in the following areas will measure a 42°C-44°C heat index:

PAGASA classifies heat indices between 42°C and 51°C under the danger category. These may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

When temperatures are too high, the body struggles to regulate its internal temperature, which can lead to a rise in body heat and strain on vital organs such as the heart and kidneys. If not addressed, it may result in heat exhaustion or heat stroke.—LDF, GMA News
