Habagat to bring rains, cloudy skies over Luzon, Western Visayas

The Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat, is forecast to bring rains over Luzon and the western section of the Visayas on Wednesday, the state weather bureau PAGASA said.

According to PAGASA's 24-hour weather forecast issued at 4 p.m. Tuesday, the Southwest Monsoon is expected to bring occasional rains over Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan.

Western Visayas and the rest of Luzon may see cloudy conditions with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the weather system.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA officially declared the start of the Habagat season, one of the precursors to the onset of the rainy season, on May 30.
