Easterlies, Habagat to bring cloudy skies, rains over parts of Luzon, Mindanao
The easterlies, southwest monsoon (Habagat) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon and part of Mindanao on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.
Super Typhoon Bavi, which the state weather bureau is monitoring, is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) 2,010 kilometers east of Central Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 240 km/h and moving west northwestward at the speed of 30 km/h.
Forecast Weather Conditions
Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Lanao del Norte, and Sultan Kudarat will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorm due to the southwest monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas, PAGASA said, due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Cagayan Valley and Aurora will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms while flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
The wind speed forecast for the eastern sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas is light to moderate and moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to west direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
Northern Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the east to southeast direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to northwest with slight to moderate coastal waters.
