Habagat to bring rains over parts of Luzon — PAGASA
The southwest monsoon, or habagat, will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of Northern and Central Luzon on Sunday, state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
In its 4 a.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said the southwest monsoon is affecting the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon.
The Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas.
The Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, and the Babuyan Islands will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also due to the southwest monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA likewise warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
The entire country will experience light to moderate winds blowing from the south to southwest, with slight to moderate coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.
In Metro Manila, temperatures recorded at the PAGASA Science Garden in Quezon City on Saturday ranged from a low of 25.8°C at 5 a.m. to a high of 33.3°C at 2 p.m.
Sunrise on Sunday is expected at 5:30 a.m., while sunset will be at 6:28 p.m.—MCG, GMA News
