Habagat to bring scattered rains, thunderstorms over northwest Luzon

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat is forecast to affect the western section of Northern Luzon on Sunday, July 19, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its 4 p.m. weather bulletin on Saturday, PAGASA said the Habagat is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region and Zambales.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected over the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Batanes, and Babuyan Islands.

According to PAGASA, localized thunderstorms may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The bureau advised affected areas to be alert for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms and heavy rains.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are forecast in the whole country, with waves measuring 0.6 meters to 1.8 meters.

At the PAGASA Science Garden weather station in Diliman, Quezon City, the highest temperature recorded on Saturday reached 33.3 degrees Celsius at 2 p.m., while the lowest temperature was logged at 25.8 degrees Celsius at 5 a.m.
