Tropical Storm Kiyapo to impact northern Luzon with heavy rainfall Saturday

Tropical Storm Kiyapo (international name "Noul") is expected to affect the Northern part of Luzon on July 25, 2026, according to the 4 p.m. weather bulletin of PAGASA on Friday.

As of 3 p.m., Tropical Storm Kiyapo was estimated over the coastal waters of Camiguin Island, Calayan, Cagayan, with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gusts up to 115 kph.

On Saturday, Kiyapo is forecast to bring stormy weather conditions in Ilocos Norte, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands. Meanwhile, it is expected to bring rains with gusty winds in Ilocos Sur, La Union, Aurora, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the Cordillera Administrative Region.

PAGASA advised the affected areas of the tropical storm to be on alert for possible flash floods or landslides due to intense rains, with minor to moderate threat to life and property due to strong winds.

Also on Saturday, the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat is forecast to affect Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, and bring the following weather conditions:

• Occasional rains - Zambales, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental
• Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms - Metro Manila, Visayas, the rest of Luzon, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Northern Mindanao, SOCCSKSARGEN, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte, and Dinagat Islands
• Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms - the rest of Mindanao

Forecast wind conditions

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are forecast in Mindanao, with waves running from 1.2 meters to 2.5 meters.

Slight to moderate winds and light to moderate coastal waters are expected in Visayas, Southern Luzon, and the rest of Luzon, with waves running from 0.6 meters to 2.1 meters.

At the PAGASA Science Garden weather station in Diliman, Quezon City, the highest temperature recorded on Friday reached 29.3 degrees Celsius at 2 p.m., while the lowest temperature was logged at 25.6 degrees Celsius at 2 a.m.
