Cloudy skies, rain expected over parts of PH due to LPA trough

The low pressure area (LPA) being monitored by PAGASA inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is expected to bring cloudy skies and rain to several parts of the country.

In its 4 p.m. weather bulletin on Friday, PAGASA said the trough of the LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Mindanao, the Bicol Region, Laguna, and Marinduque over the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA advised residents in areas affected by the LPA trough and localized thunderstorms to remain alert for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

As of 3 p.m., the LPA was located 965 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon.

PAGASA said the weather disturbance has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are expected across the country, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters over Mindanao and 0.6 to 1.2 meters over Luzon and the Visayas.
