LPA to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains in Luzon, Visayas

A Low Pressure Area (LPA) being monitored by PAGASA inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is forecast to affect Luzon and Visayas by Sunday.

The LPA was last estimated at 595 km east of Infanta, Quezon, according to PAGASA's 3 p.m. advisory on Saturday.

It is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Visayas, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora.

Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms are expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.

PAGASA advised the projected areas to be affected by the LPA and localized thunderstorms to be on alert for possible flash floods or landslides during heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are forecast in the country, with waves running from 0.6 meters to 1.5 meters in all of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

At the PAGASA Science Garden weather station in Diliman, Quezon City, the highest temperature recorded on Saturday reached 33.0 degrees Celsius at 2 p.m., while the lowest temperature was logged at 24.4 degrees Celsius at 2 a.m.
