Habagat to bring rain over Luzon, western Visayas — PAGASA

The southwest monsoon (habagat) will bring rains over Luzon and the western section of the Visayas on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.

The state weather bureau continue to monitor a tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), Tropical Storm Peilou, which is located 2,515 kilometers east of extreme Norther Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 80 km per hour, and moving east southeastward at the speed of 25 km/h.

The habagat will bring monsoon rains over Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan and flash floods and landslides may occur in these provinces due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, Nueva Vizcaya, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, and Occidental Mindoro will have occasional rains also due to the habagat and flash floods and landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Western Visayas, the rest of Cagayan Valley, the rest of CALABARZON, the rest of MIMAROPA, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur as flash floods and landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms as flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for northern and western sections of Luzon is strong moving southwest while coastal waters will be rough.

The rest of Luzon will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

In the Visayas and Mindanao, wind speed will be moderate to strong and moving in the south to southwest direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
