Cloudy skies, scattered rains over Luzon, western Visayas — PAGASA

The southwest monsoon (habagat) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Luzon and the western section of Visayas on Friday, PAGASA reported.

The state weather bureau also reported that as of 2 a.m., the Low Pressure area (LPA 08e) that is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has a medium chance of development into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Forecast Weather Conditions

Zambales and Bataan will have occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon while flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, the rest of Central Luzon, and Antique will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of Luzon, Aklan, and Capiz will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms while flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

The wind speed forecast for northern and western section of Luzon is moderate to strong and moving in the southwest direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Luzon will have light to moderate wind speed moving southwestward with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
