Intense rains affect Tarlac City; heavy rains expected over Tarlac, Nueva Ecija (Friday, 3 p.m.)

Heavy to intense rains with lightning and strong winds are currently affecting Tarlac City, the state weather bureau PAGASA said Friday, August 21, 2026.

In its 3 p.m. thunderstorm advisory, PAGASA said the inclement weather may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds are expected in the following areas within the next three hours:

• Tarlac (Gerona, Santa Ignacia, Concepcion, La Paz, Victoria, Pura, Paniqui, Ramos, Anao, Moncada, San Manuel, Mayontoc, San Jose, Capas)
• Nueva Ecija (Pantabangan, Palayan, Cabanatuan, Llanera, Rizal, Laur, Bongabon, Talavera, San Jose, Santa Rosa, General Mamerto Natividad)

PAGASA advises the public to take precautionary measures against the impacts of flash floods and landslides, and to keep monitoring for weather updates. —AOL, GMA News
