Habagat to bring rains, cloudy skies over Luzon — PAGASA

The Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat, is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Luzon on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, the state weather bureau PAGASA said Tuesday.

In its 4 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the Habagat is expected to bring occasional rains over Zambales.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are forecast in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, the rest of Central Luzon, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, and Antique.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected in the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas.

In the rest of the country, localized thunderstorms are expected to affect weather conditions, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

As of 3 p.m., Typhoon Saudel (formerly Obet) was estimated outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 1,070 km northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph and gusts up to 170 kph.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are expected in Luzon and the western section of Visayas, with waves running from 1.5 meters to 3.4 meters.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are expected in the rest of the country, with waves running from 0.6 meters to 2.1 meters.

At the PAGASA Science Garden weather station in Diliman, Quezon City, the highest temperature recorded on Tuesday reached 31.3 degrees Celsius at 1 p.m., while the lowest temperature was logged at 27.5 degrees Celsius at 5 a.m.
