Habagat in August 2026: Where to donate to help affected communities

Several organizations are calling for donations as the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat continues to affect parts of the Philippines.

As of Monday, August 10, the Habagat has caused flooding, power interruptions, evacuations, and class and work suspensions, among others, in Metro Manila and several provinces.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that as of 8 a.m. Monday, 585,993 individuals or 170,593 families were affected across nine regions due to the combined effects of the enhanced Southwest Monsoon and Tropical Cyclones Luis and Maymay.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) also said that at least 12 people have died, eight remain missing, and 11 others were injured as of Monday.

Here are the organizations accepting donations in cash and in-kind:

GMA Kapuso Foundation

GMA Kapuso Foundation is preparing for its Operation Bayanihan in the National Capital Region and nearby provinces affected by floods caused by the Habagat.

GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting deposits in its bank accounts, transfers through Cebuana Lhuillier, QR codes, GBayanihan, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, Lazada, and Shopee.

AGHAM

AGHAM, or the Advocates of Science and Technology for the People, opened a donation drive for affected communities.

A donation of P50 can help sponsor one meal. Donations may be sent through GCash QR code and PayPal.

Add the note "#STEMBayanihan" for GCash donations.

Angat Buhay

Angat Buhay, as well as the Angat Bayanihan Volunteer Network, is also calling for monetary donations.

On the Angat Buhay website, those interested may send their donations via GCash QR, bank transfers, and Myriad.

Bulacan State University

Bulacan State University (BulSu) accepts both in-kind and monetary donations.

Food, water, hygiene kits, and comfort kits may be dropped off at the BulSu Hostel on campus.

Monetary donations are accepted at the BulSu cashier's office or by bank transfer to Landbank.

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde

The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s Benilde Center for Social Action has opened #BenildeanOperationSagip.

For every P510 donated, the school can provide one food pack containing bottled water, canned goods, instant noodles, and three kilos of rice.

Donations are accepted via GCash.

Kaya Natin! Youth

Kaya Natin! Youth, under the Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership, is accepting monetary donations via QR codes.

In a post on Facebook, the comments section provides the QR codes of each participating chapter in locations like Manila, Pampanga, Tarlac, and more.

University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Community Extension Services Coordinating Council

The University of Perpetual Help System Dalta in Las Pinas City, through its Community Extension Services Coordinating Council, is accepting in-kind donations.

The organization calls for rice, canned goods, noodles, clean clothing, hygiene products, blankets, and mattresses. These may be dropped off at the Community Extension Services Office from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
