H.E.R. on visiting PH for 'Forgotten Island': 'My lola would be so proud'

H.E.R. is embracing her Filipino roots as she visited the Philippines to promote "Forgotten Island" alongside her co-star Liza Soberano.

On Instagram, the Filipino-American singer concluded her trip to the country with some memorable snaps, including photos from the film's homecoming celebration at the SM Mall of Asia Main Atrium.

"Wow Manila! I can't believe this happened," H.E.R. wrote. "My lola would be so proud!"

"Thank you very much for all the love and excitement from everyone that came out to see us," she added.

In a separate post, H.E.R. gave a candid glimpse into other parts of her trip to the Philippines, including visiting shops, finding Filipino-inspired clothing, riding a jeepney and pedicab, eating suman, and strolling through local streets.

"Uy Philippines!" she captioned.

"So excited for you all to hear Jo and Raissa's duet 'BRB'," she added. "Less than a month 'til 'Forgotten Island!'"

The DreamWorks film is set for a theatrical release nationwide on September 23.

It follows the journey of two childhood best friends, Raissa (Liza) and Jo (H.E.R.), as they try to find their way home after ending up on a mysterious island.

Aside from Liza and H.E.R., the movie also stars Lea Salonga, Dave Franco, Dolly de Leon, Manny Jacinto, Jenny Slate, Jo Koy, and Ronny Chieng.
