Blackpink to release a movie for their 5th anniversary

Blackpink will release a movie in August as part of their fifth anniversary celebration!

According to a Soompi report citing the group’s agency YG Entertainment, “Blackpink: The Movie” will be released in 100 countries and feature various sequences.

These sequences will include “The Room of Memory,” a montage of the memories they have shared for years, “Beauty,” which will focus on the girls’ personalities, and an “Unreleased Special Interview.”

The film will also feature five songs from Blackpink’s shows “The Show” and “In Your Area” to make viewers feel like they’re having a concert straight from their screens.

As of writing, “Blackpink The Movie” is the top trending topic on Philippine Twitter, with 316,000 tweets from fans who can’t contain their excitement.

“Blackpink: The Movie” is part of the K-Pop group’s “4+1 Project” which is meant to mark the group’s fifth year in the industry.

Composed of Rosé, Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo, Blackpink debuted on Aug. 8, 2016 and released “Square One,” which contained the songs “Whistle” and “BOOMBAYAH.”

They have since reached several milestones, such as having four music videos reach a billion views. Their most recent one to achieve the feat was “As If It’s Your Last.”
