Makoto Shinkai's 'Suzume no Tojimari' drops new trailer

Makoto Shinkai's latest film, "Suzume no Tojimari," just dropped a new trailer!

And unlike the previous trailer, this one included dialogue from the characters.

We learn that the long-haired man Suzume encounters is named Souta, and he gets trapped  inside a wooden chair after a strange cat appears before them.

Suzume then follows the chair around to protect him as they search for the doors opening to portals which will unleash destruction across Japan.

"I'm afraid of a world where Souta doesn't exist!" Suzume says in the trailer.

The film also recently released a new poster, showing Suzume, Souta, and the cat walking out the door into a field with grass and flowers under a beautiful sky.

In a previous poster, Suzume was shown carrying a chair while standing in front of a door.

"Suzume no Tojimari," which translates to "Suzume's Door-Locking," is Shinkai's first film in three years, following 2019's "Weathering With You."

Shinkai is also the director of hit 2016 anime film "Your Name," which went on to become one of the highest-grossing anime films of all time.

His other films, including "5 Centimeters Per Second," are available on Netflix.
