Google Chrome for Android now allows password synching, forms

Owners of Android devices can now sync their passwords and forms using the newest version of Google's Chrome browser for the platform.

Eidetic engineer Chris Hopman said the latest update to Chrome for Android can save them the trouble of remembering passwords or filling in forms.

"You can now access your saved passwords and autofill entries on your phone and tablet when you’ve signed in to Chrome, just like you have been able to do on your desktop and laptop computers," Hopman said in a blog post.

But he also said users must be signed in to Chrome on both the desktop and mobile device, "and let sync take care of the rest."

Hopman said Google will roll out the updates in the coming days.

But a separate report on CNET said the updates are for Android 4.0.

"The new version of the browser also repairs a problem where a blank page would be shown instead of loading the correct URL," it added.

CNET also reported Google has released a Canary version of Chrome OS, though it is mostly experimental and "unstable, and subject to near-daily changes." — TJD, GMA News
