You can now edit MS Office docs while inside Dropbox
Mobile users can now edit Microsoft Office documents in their Dropbox accounts, thanks to integration between the online storage service and the productivity suite.
The cloud-based storage service updated its apps for Apple iOS and Google Android devices, tech site Mashable reported.
Users can select a new "edit" button while viewing a document in Dropbox to open the document in the appropriate Office app such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
"Changes made in the Office apps will automatically be synced and saved to your Dropbox account," it said.
On the other hand, users who do not have the Office apps installed will be prompted to download the concerned apps.
Mashable said Dropbox may soon roll out Microsoft Office support on its web, though it may not come until 2015. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
