'PBB Collab 3.0': Meet Gehlee Dangca, 'Ang Darling K-Pop Idol ng Las Piñas'
K-pop fans would be familiar with Gehlee Dangca, who until recently has been pursuing her idol dreams in South Korea.
Now, she is known as the "Darling K-Pop Idol ng Las Piñas" on "Pinoy Big Brother: Collab Edition 3.0." During her introduction video, she said she used to be shy but gained confidence after taking voice lessons and joining beauty pageants so she could become a performer.

1. She was discovered on the reality show 'Universe Ticket'
Gehlee was one of the 82 contestants on the survival reality show, "Universe Ticket." It featured idol hopefuls from around the world to compete and debut in a multinational girl group.
After competing for weeks, Gehlee was among the excellent contestants who were chosen to debut in the eight-member girl group, UNIS. She debuted with fellow Filipina Elisia Parmisano and Filipino-Korean Hyeonju.
2. Gehlee is a successful K-Pop idol
Gehlee debuted with UNIS on March 27, 2024 with their first mini album "We UNIS."
UNIS songs include "Superwoman," "Curious," and "Swicy." They were known for having a diverse lineup with members from the Philippines, South Korea, and Japan.
They had a notable fan-base in the Philippines and visited for a fan sign tour and fan con in 2025. In April, they headlined the Otaku Pop Fes 2026 in Okada Manila.
UNIS disbanded on September 26. Following the announcement, Gehlee expressed her gratitude to their fans, EverAfter, on Weverse.
3. She returned to the Philippines in September
Following Unis' disbandment, Gehlee returned home to the Philippines in September. She came back to pursue a solo career and continue her studies.
Gehlee is signed under Universal Records Philippines, with its talent management arm GLXY Talent Management and Star Horizon TV Production overseeing her activities in the Philippines.
4. Gehlee has a solo single
Gehlee debuted as a solo artist in October with the single "Closer."
It is a track about wanting to get closer to someone, expressing the excitement and nervousness of developing romantic feelings for another person.
Gehlee sings about being drawn to someone, wanting to spend more time with them, and hoping that the feelings are mutual.
5. She's a mama's girl
In an episode of "PBB," the housemates were tasked with sharing a special item they brought from home. Gehlee chose her mother's jewelry set.
Gehlee said that she loves her mom, who has been with her since the start of her journey.
"She's always there for me especially when I auditioned for like K-Pop, she's the one who accompanied me with everything," Gehlee said.
"And in Korea, she was the one I turned to everyday to call. It wasn't easy there, I spent my time there kind of isolated from everyone while I was still adjusting. I called her every day because just calling her, it felt like a breath of fresh air. It felt like home talking to her," she added.
Gehlee also said she is so happy her mom is by her side throughout everything.
"I'm gonna maximize my time here and make sure her efforts to bring me here pay off," she said. —MGP, GMA News
