Rocco Nacino says 'Descendants of the Sun' training opened his eyes and inspired him to enlist in the Philippine Navy

Rocco Nacino has officially enlisted as a reservist in the Philippine Navy.

At the arrival ceremony BRP Conrado Yap on Tuesday, which he attended alongside Marine reservist and fellow Kapuso celeb Dingdong Dantes, Rocco said it was actually a childhood dream.

"Yup it’s happening," Rocco said on Instagram.

"Sa paggawa ng trainings namin para sa Descendants of the Sun, nabuksan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines ang mga mata ko para maka-contribute sa ating bansa thru being a reservist for the Philippine Navy," he continued.

According to Rocco, he believes "magagamit ko ang skills ko as a nurse for medical missions, physical skills in times of calamity, and my influence to inspire and motivate the youth."

He expressed his joy that the Kapuso Network has been supportive of this new endeavor. 

Not to worry though as Rocco's acting career will remain active. Apart from playing Diego Ramos in the Philippine adaptation of hit Korean drama Descendants of the Sun, Rocco also has a movie lined up, "Write About Love," where he plays a seasoned writer. — LA, GMA News
