Herlene Budol on joining Miss Universe: 'Pang-bardagulan lang tayo'

Will Herlene Budol ever compete in Miss Universe?

After posting gorgeous photos of herself with her sash and crown on Facebook, the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 1st Runner-Up had a comment about the prestigious pageant, which recently held its 71st edition.

"Wag nating ipilit, 'di tayo pang MU, pang-bardagulan lang tayo, doon tayo sa kung saan lang tayo bagay. Ano sa tingin nyo?" she said.

When a fan told her that she would at least reach the Top 5, she gave a tongue-in-cheek response: "Malabo, bobo po ako."

Herlene placed 1st Runner-Up in Binibining Pilipinas 2021 and garnered seven special awards during the competition.

She was supposed to compete in Miss Planet International, but withdrew due to "uncertainties by the organizers” and because the candidates were not treated well.

Meanwhile, Celeste Cortesi bowed out of the Miss Universe 2022 pageant early and the crown went to USA's R'Bonney Gabriel.
