Is Carla Abellana ready to meet Tom Rodriguez again? Kapuso actress answers

Now that Tom Rodriguez is back in the Philippines, is Carla Abellana ready to cross paths with her ex-husband?

In an interview with Nelson Canlas for "24 Oras," Monday, the Kapuso actress admitted that she did not know that Tom has returned to the country after staying in the United States for a while.

Asked for her reaction to the news, Carla said she is OK if they were to see each other again.

"I don't feel intimidated, scared, nervous. Wala namang ganoon. Of course artista siya, may obligation siya. He's a Kapuso," said the 37-year-old actress, who just renewed her contract with GMA Network.

"Dadating naman talaga 'yung day na babalik siya sa trabaho. Hindi naman maiiwasan 'yan."

Carla said it's something that she has thought about many times, as it's something that's inevitable with both of them working in showbiz.

"I think naman OK lang. Ready naman ako. Hindi naman ako 'yung type na, 'Ay, ayoko' or avoidance or what," she said.

Carla and Tom have been in a relationship for seven years before getting married in October 2021. They were surrounded by breakup rumors just three months after their wedding.

Tom, an American citizen, announced that he is divorced from Carla in June 2022. The actress has filed a petition for recognition of the foreign judgment in the Philippines.

In an interview on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" last year, Carla said she has been granted a protection order against Tom.

Carla currently stars in GMA Afternoon Prime series "Stolen Life" with Gabby Concepcion and Beauty Gonzalez. She will also star with Bea Alonzo in "Widow's War," a spinoff of murder-mystery series "Royal Blood" and "Widow's Web."
