Awra Briguela claps back at bashers, online bullies: 'I will stand up for myself this time'

Awra Briguela begins 2026 by speaking up for herself against bashers and online bullying.

On X, the actress addressed those who were "transphobic and homophobic" toward her on social media.

"You've all been bullying me online, picking on me every single day," she wrote.

"I chose to ignore everything, even though I was getting hurt every single day, despite not doing anything to any of you," she added.

Awra said people have been so comfortable disrespecting her online because she "chose not to stand up" for herself "for so long."

"But when I finally do, I'm suddenly the bad person?" she said. "It's 2026, yet so many of you still enjoy bullying someone who is trying to grow, improve, and redeem herself from past mistakes."

This was in response to someone who called out her response to a basher who said, "'Yung mouthpiece talaga nagdala." Awra clapped back with, "'Yung ngipin ko limang taon na sahod mo."

"There is a better way naman siguro to answer that basher," an X user wrote about Awra's reply. "Remember nagka-kaso si Awra before. Sana nagpakabait na lang siya, rather than being matapobre."

Awra said the reason for responding the way she did was that she was tired of being the bigger person.

"I promise myself that I will no longer give transphobes the freedom to bully me," she said.

"One thing I should've done sooner was be meaner to those transphobes," she added. "I don't care anymore. I will stand up for myself this time."

In 2023, Awra was detained by the Makati City police after she was involved in a brawl outside a bar in Poblacion. After posting bail, she filed a counter-affidavit in connection with the complaints she faced.

In 2025, Awra shared a heartwarming moment of academic achievement and profound gratitude, where she showed her grades to Vice Ganda, saying, "This is all for you."
