Dingdong Dantes grateful for positive feedback for ‘The Master Cutter’ pilot episode

Dingdong Dantes is nothing short of grateful for viewers' positive feedback for the pilot episode of “The Master Cutter.”

In Aubrey Carampel’s report on Tuesday’s episode of “24 Oras,” the Kapuso actor shared during the show’s watch party in Pampanga that he is happy viewers are appreciating their craft.

“Nakakataba ng puso. Karamihan sa'min tatlo o apat na beses nang napanood ito. Pero tuwing napapanood namin, ganoon din ‘yung feeling. Ganoon ‘yung excitement,” Dingdong said.

“Very heart-pounding and natutuwa kami na na-appreciate ng mga manonood ‘yung aming trabaho,” he added.

Dingdong also praised Miguel Tanfelix for his craft after his special appearance in the series.

“Hanga ako sa husay niya. Nakakatuwa dahil first time ko siyang nakasama talaga. Matagal ko nang gustong makatrabaho si Miguel. At ngayon nakitang parang biglang ang laki ng tinalon niya sa kaniyang maturity. Nakakatuwa dahil ngayon nag-aaction na siya,” he said.

Earlier, Dingdong said in an Instagram post that he is happy to see the young star taking on hard-action roles.

“Masaya akong makita si Miguel na sumasabak ngayon sa mundo ng hard action at kitang-kita ang dedikasyon niya sa bawat eksena,” he wrote.

As the series progresses, Dingdong’s co-star Shuvee Etrata said that more surprises await viewers.

“It only just begun. Simula pa lang 'to ng maraming-maraming surpresa na pwede niyong mapanood sa ‘The Master Cutter’ and I’m just really excited for you guys," she said.

The "Master Cutter" premiered on GMA Prime on Monday, May 11, following its early release on Netflix on May 8.

The pilot episode introduced viewers to Atoy, a highly skilled Scout Ranger who pursues an Italian-Argentinian arms dealer.

In the pilot episode, Miguel made a surprise appearance as a soldier who goes undercover as one of the armed guards of the villain.

Directed by Dominic Zapata, it also stars Max Collins, Rio Locsin, Paolo Contis, Joey Marquez, Polo Ravales, Anthony Constantino, Charlie Fleming, Sienna Stevens, and more.

"The Master Cutter" is Dingdong's return to primetime since starring in "Royal Blood" in 2023. The actor plays Atoy, a retired soldier who becomes a tailor and tracker-for-hire.

It airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It is also streaming on Netflix. —Jade Veronique Yap/CDC, GMA News
