After reconnecting on Facebook, Amy Austria reveals Hilda Koronel now calls her 'my love'

Amy Austria has set the record straight: she and Hilda Koronel are friends.

In fact, they never fought.

In an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, the veteran actress said, “Nagkaroon lang ng misunderstanding or intriga sa mga siguro ibang tao, ganyan."

Amy recalled starring together in films like 1984's “Kung Mahawi Man ang Ulap.”

“We were friends, lumalabas kami. And then something happened lang in between,” Amy said, clarifying it had nothing to do with the late actor Jay Ilagan.

Jay is Hilda’s husband but they separated. He later had a relationship with Amy.

“Matagal naman na silang hiwalay,” Amy told Tito Boy on Wednesday.

Amy recalled that she and Hilda did not talk for a while, but reconnected on Facebook before the pandemic.

Amy first told Hilda’s eldest child that she wanted to add her on Facebook. And when she saw Hilda on her suggested friends list, decided to add her as friend.

“Sumagot naman kaagad ‘tas nag-chat kami. Talagang I was really happy,” Amy said.

“Ngayon ang tawag niya sa ‘kin ‘my love,’” she added.

Amy is one of the stars of “Kamao,” which follows Makmak’s (Anton Vinzon) journey into becoming a top Filipino boxer.

The action drama series airs at 3:20 p.m. Mondays to Fridays on GMA Afternoon Prime. — Nika Roque/LA, GMA News
