Sophia of Katseye delights Pinoy fans as she belts out Moira Dela Torre songs

Sophia of Katseye just flexed her Filipino throat chakra!

On Friday, the Filipina singer went live on Weverse, where she belted several songs, including “Titibo Tibo" and “Tagpuan” by Moira Dela Torre.

She also sang "'Til They Take My Heart Away," originally by Clair Marlo, and later covered by MYMP.

"I think it's very Filipino to know this song," Sophia said.

Aside from OPM songs, she also shared her versions of hit songs “Hate That I Made You Love Me” by Ariana Grande and “Risk It All” by Bruno Mars, among others.

Sophia’s Tagalog song covers quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok, with many Filipino fans praising her vocals.

“Inangkin ni sophia yung lahat ng 99% pinoy beautiful voice tas sakin napunta yung 1%,” a user said.

“Filipina throat chakra goes crazy,” another netizen commented.

Sophia, together with her fellow Katseye members Daniela, Lara, Yoonchae and Megan, performed at Coachella in April.

She is also part of the official soundtrack of the upcoming DreamWorks animated film “Forgotten Island” with her reimagined version of INXS’ classic “Never Tear Us Apart.” —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA News
