'Born to Shine' stars grateful for overwhelming support from viewers

The cast of GMA Afternoon Prime series "Born to Shine" expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support the show has been receiving from Kapuso viewers.

In Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras” on Tuesday, the cast members shared that the series's recent fan meets have become a testament to the show's growing popularity, with venues packed by supporters eager to see them in person.

"I think sobrang may beauty doon sa hindi mo in-expect. Kasi I think ako, gusto ko lang po talaga na gawin namin 'yung best namin, ibigay namin 'yung best namin sa project na 'to without any expectation in return,” Zephanie said.

“But I think ganun talaga magwork 'yung mundo, si Lord. For me, this is just really one of my answered prayers talaga,” she added.

Gaea Mischa echoed the sentiment, saying she was overwhelmed to see fans not only showing up in large numbers but also singing along to the show's original songs and recognizing each of their characters.

"The entire venue was jam-packed. Wherever we went, there were plenty of people," she shared. "The most overwhelming part is people know our songs. They're singing along, they're dancing, they know each one of our characters, they know our lines."

She added that the support inspires him to work even harder as an actor and performer.

With the growing fan base, some viewers have begun expressing hopes for a concert featuring the cast. Michael Sager, who plays the role of Nate in the series, said it’s not impossible to happen.

"Of course, maghahanda tayo doon. ‘Yun talaga pangarap ko. Ma-experience ko din 'yan. And if we're the 'Born to Shine' cast, why not?" he said.

Meanwhile, fans of the Olive May and Kobie Brown tandem were also treated to a surprise when Kobie joined Olive during a separate event, delighting supporters of their pairing.

“Medyo kinakabahan po. Hindi ko alam kung anong sasabihin ko pero natutuwa din ako kasi they look very happy. And especially online, I've been so happy kasi ang ganda ng reaction ng mga viewers po and me and Olive are just so grateful for this opportunity,” he said.

As the story of "Born to Shine" continues to heat up, the cast teased that viewers can expect even more intense drama and emotional twists in the coming episodes.

“'Pag binabasa ka 'yung scene, I'm like, oh my God, grabe, sabang intense niya talaga. Lalo na ngayon na nalaman na ng mga tao na magkapatid kami ni Jenny [Zephanie]. Mas lalo hindi niya tanggap na sister niya si Jenny. So marami po siyang plans para mahirapan si Jenny,” said Olive.
