Golden Cañedo, AC Bonifacio join 'Born to Shine' as new members of rival P-pop group NIXI
The rivalry between fictional P-pop girl groups YUMI and NIXI is about to heat up in GMA Afternoon Prime's musical drama "Born to Shine."
According to Athena Imperial’s report on “24 Oras” on Friday, the series is introducing two new members to NIXI—belter Lexi Hipolito, played by the first-ever "The Clash" champion Golden Cañedo, and dancer-influencer Kendall Domingo, portrayed by AC Bonifacio.
Both stars expressed excitement as they began taping for the series.
"I'm just glad to be here. I always love to do shows that celebrate performing and dancing and singing. And this is one of them, so I’m just glad to be part of it," AC said.
The actress and dancer also shared that she has fully recovered after breaking her arm last year and is now ready to take on the show's demanding choreography.
"I was recovering also 'cause I did break my arm last year, so I've been recovering. But we're back at it dancing again," she said.
Meanwhile, "Born to Shine" marks Golden's television comeback after a five-year hiatus. During her break from showbiz, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in Cebu.
“Binigyan po ako agad ng opportunity dito sa 'Born to Shine,' and of course po na maipakita ko rin 'yung talent ko kasi it’s my first time po sa serye, sa sayaw,” she said.
The singer revealed that she is scheduled to take the Nursing Licensure Examination next year. For now, however, she is focused on making the most of her return to the entertainment industry.
Aside from "Born to Shine," Golden will also appear on "All-Out Sundays" and "The Clash Teens."
