'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' sets opening weekend records in the PH with P589.9M
In only five days, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" earned P586.9 million in the Philippines!
According to Columbia Pictures, this marks the biggest post-pandemic opening weekend in the country, and the third biggest after "Avengers: Endgame" and "Avengers: Infinity War."
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" has been screened on over 700 local theaters since its premiere on July 29.
Previously, Columbia Pictures announced that the latest installment in the popular Marvel franchise earned P95.9 million on its opening day.
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is set four years after the memory-wipe in "Spider-Man: Far From Home." In earlier trailers, Peter Parker has been shown losing control of himself and his powers as he struggles with what Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) describes as mutating DNA.
It stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Zendaya as MJ, and Jacob Batalon as Ned. —JCB, GMA News
