BGYO returns to acting in 'Born to Shine'
BGYO is stepping back into acting as the group is set to make a return to "Born to Shine."
In Athena Imperial's report on "24 Oras" Wednesday, the members of the P-pop group expressed their gratitude and excitement to be back in the series.
"We're thankful because we've been receiving a lot of feedback from people and we would find out that they learned about us through 'Born to Shine,'" said Gelo Rivera in Filipino.
"Nung pinanood din naming 'yung mga episodes, medyo nabitin din kami so ang saya namin makakabalik kami at magkakaron pa kami ng eksena sa kanila," JL Toreliza added.
"We were left wanting when we watched the episodes, so we're happy that we're returning and we'll have more scenes with the cast," added JL Toreliza.
Nate Porcalla also noted that it is more enjoyable when they act together, while Mikki Claver shared that they are now more confident in acting.
"We were nervous at first, but we're confident now because we're just playing ourselves in the series. So yeah, it's gonna be better," said Mikki.
Zephanie, who plays Jeni in the series, also welcomed BGYO's return.
"I believe that there are so many who can return on the show, and one of them is BGYO. I guess it's funnier now because I feel like we're closer after having bonded before. It's just nice to see them part of the show again, and there are many more exciting scenes to look forward to," she said in Filipino.
BGYO first guest-starred as themselves in "Born to Shine" in May.
The group, composed of Gelo, Nate, Mikki, JL, and Akira Morishita, made a comeback with their single "Fresh" in February.
In March, they performed at the DUNK Showcase in Japan. They also performed at the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 coronation night in May.
"Born to Shine" airs Mondays to Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime. —CDC, GMA News
