Personalities, netizens celebrate Kris Aquino's return

Kris Aquino made headlines Friday after she topbilled Netflix's latest campaign as the streaming giant's official Chief Head of Insights and Kontent Analysis or C.H.I.K.A.

The first of three episodes dropped today, with Kris reporting for duty on her first day at work. Joining her colleague, the editor Earljohn at the editing room, Kris generously gave her candid comments on local titles streaming on Netflix including "The Master Cutter."

On social media, celebrities and netizens burst in collective celebration at Kris' return.

Neri Miranda, Michael Leyva, and Kimi Yap dropped multiple red heart emojis in the comment section of Kris' joint post with Netflix. Bea Fabregas meanwhile put three teary-eyed emojis, while Nice Print put heart-eyed emojis.

Bianca Gonzalez wrote "The Queen," while Baus Rufo said, Kris is "always iconic."

Makeup artist RB Chanco said "no imitation can replace the original. One queen and only one" as radio personality Tin Gamboa said "safer happy to see her doing so well."

Trans beauty queen Mela Habijan wrote, "long live our queen," as many netizens quipped that the queen is back.

"Aminin nyo si Kris Aquino talaga blueprint ng modern daily vlogging, lifestyle documentation, and unfiltered camera walkthroughs of personal spaces," another comment read, while another netizen wrote, "The Queen is back! We’re so happy! We love you! We missed you!"

On Facebook, Kris reposted Netflix's video and said, "guess who's back?"

"Netflix's new Chief Head of Insights and Kontent Analysis reporting for duty! We have a lot of bonggang local shows just for you," she added, as she invited her followers to watch the shows on the streaming giant.

According to Netflix, this is a three-episode campaign that Kris is headlining. The next episode will drop on August 14 and the last on August 20.

This is Kris' comeback following her serious years-long health concerns that saw her battling up to nine autoimmune diseases.

Earlier this year, she shared her goal of launching a weekly video podcast, where she plans to interview people she finds interesting.
