Kobe Paras joins East West Private, company handling Kai Sotto in US

East West Private (EWP), the agency that handles Kai Sotto and other US-based Filipino players, welcomed its newest member Kobe Paras.

"Let tomorrow be your second chance to prove that you are better than today and yesterday. Welcome to the family, Kobe!" EWP wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

Kobe, the second son of Philippine basketball icon Benjie Paras, suited up for the University of the Philippines (UP) in 2019. He became part of the Mythical Five of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines during that season after averaging 17.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

Prior to UP, Kobe also spent some of his college years with Creighton University and California State University Northridge in the United States.

In March 2018, Kobe announced he was 'going pro', but months after, he joined the Fighting Maroons squad.

Kobe last suited up for the Philippine national team in the November window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers.

Aside from Sotto and now Paras, EWP handles other players of Filipino descent such as Cholo Añonuevo and Sage Tolentino. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/JMB, GMA News
