Carlos Yulo ends 2026 Asian Games run with 4th place finish in parallel bars

After two gold medals, Carlos Yulo is closing out his 2026 Asian Games campaign with a respectable finish after placing fourth in the parallel bars finals on Friday in Japan.

The Filipino gymnast, who won two gold medals in two days after ruling the floor exercise and vault, scored 14.300 anchored on 5.6 in difficulty and 8.700 in execution in his final event in the Asian Games.

Jingyuan Zou of China defended his gold medal after collecting an impressive 15.500 while Japanese bet Shinnosuke Oka took home the silver with 14.500. Uzbekistan's Rasuljon Abdurakhimov scored 14.433 to settle for the bronze.

The 26-year-old Yulo will close out his Asian Games campaign as the most bemedalled athlete among the Philippine delegation, capping his stint with two gold medals in his pet events, the same two events where he captured gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
