OCA chief pays courtesy call on Marcos at MalacaƱang

Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) president and Qatar Olympic Committee chief Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani paid a courtesy call on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at Malacañang Palace on Friday.

According to the Palace, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in sports development, expanding collaboration, and exploring opportunities for the Philippines to host future Asian competitions.

Also present during the courtesy call were Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino and Philippine Sports Commission chairman Patrick Gregorio.

On Thursday, the Philippines, represented by Tolentino, formally received the OCA flag during the closing ceremony of the Asian Beach Games, with Cebu set to host the 2028 edition.
