Alex Eala after Berlin Tennis Open exit: 'Berlin, you are so special'
Alexandra “Alex” Eala expressed her gratitude on social media following her semifinal exit at the Berlin Tennis Open.
Eala bowed out of the WTA 500 tournament after a 6-2, 6-4 loss to Linda Noskova in the semifinals on Sunday.
“Can’t begin to describe all the emotions I’ve experienced this week. My heart is full! I am forever grateful. Berlin, you are so, so special. Thank you,” said the world No. 35.
Despite the defeat, Eala enjoyed a remarkable run in Berlin.
She opened her campaign with a victory over reigning Queen’s Club champion Donna Vekic before pulling off stunning upsets against world No. 2 Elena Rybakina and world No. 8 Elina Svitolina.
Eala is expected to return to action this week at the Bad Homburg Open.
