Alex Eala meets tennis legend Billie Jean King after Wimbledon breakthrough
Fresh off her historic Wimbledon victory, Alexandra "Alex" Eala shared a moment with tennis legend Billie Jean King.
King, a former world No. 1, won 12 Grand Slam singles titles and 16 Grand Slam doubles titles during her illustrious career.
"What a treat to spend some time with Alex Eala, fresh off her historic win at Wimbledon today," King wrote in the caption of her post, which featured a clip and photos of their moment together.
Eala is coming off one of the biggest wins of her career after dethroning defending champion and world No. 3 Iga Swiatek, 7(11)-6(9), 6-2, in the third round.
The Filipina has enjoyed an impressive run at Wimbledon, defeating Renata Zarazua, 6-1, 6-2, and Maya Joint, 3-6, 6-2, 6-0, before stunning Swiatek.
The 20-year-old became the first Filipina to reach the fourth round of Wimbledon and will next face Jasmine Paolini in the Round of 16.
