Alex Eala relishes pairing up with Venus Williams in Bad Homburg: 'Immensely grateful'
Alexandra “Alex” Eala expressed her gratitude after teaming up with tennis icon Venus Williams in the doubles tournament of the Bad Homburg Open.
Eala and Williams bowed out in the quarterfinals after losing to Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalikova, 6-3, 6-2, on Thursday.
“Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I’d have the privilege of competing alongside you on court,” Eala wrote in a social media post.
“Immensely grateful to learn from you.”

Before their quarterfinal exit, Eala and Williams opened their campaign with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Alexandra Osborne and Catherine Harrison.
Eala will next compete in the singles draw of Wimbledon as the No. 29 seed, while Williams is set to play in the doubles tournament alongside her sister, Serena Williams.
