Police form task group to probe EDSA shooting incident
Authorities on Monday formed a task force that would investigate the shooting incident along EDSA on Sunday afternoon which claimed the lives of two individuals.
Eastern Police District (EPD) director Police Chief Superintendent Bernabe Balba has ordered the creation of Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) Yulo to hunt the perpetrators of the incident.
The SITG Yulo is currently probing the trajectory and cross matching of the bullets as well as as the fingerprints found on the vehicle of the victims.
Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is looking into the CCTV footage of the crime scene, the route of the suspects and the motorcycle they used to escape.
Initial investigation showed armed men aboard a black motorcycle pumped bullets at the passenger side of a white Toyota Hi-Ace van (NOS 361).
Victims were identified as Jose Luis Yulo, 62; Esmeralda Ignacio, 38, from Las Piñas City; and Nomer Santos, 51, the van owner.
Mandaluyong City Police's Senior Superintendent Moises Villaceran Jr. earlier said Yulo and Santos died in the hospital while Ignacio is still recovering. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KG, GMA News
