Respondent to Christine Dacera’s ma: I hope you find peace
A day after the latest medico legal report of Christine Dacera's case was released, some of the respondents are hoping that Dacera's mother, Sharon, will finally find the peace she's been longing for.
In a television interview Thursday, Gregorio Angelo Rafael "Gigo" De Guzman said their camp is really trying to understand the flight attendant's mother, despite the accusations the latter has been throwing against them, as she just lost her 23-year-old daughter.
"I've always said that, I wanted to tell you that I understand that whatever happened, we've been trying to understand her side of it because of course she just lost a daughter," De Guzman told ANC.
"I hope that you find the peace that you've been wanting... I hope you can help us find our peace and relief from all this trauma and torture," he added.
Dacera was found unconscious inside a Makati hotel's room last January 1 after having a New Year's celebration with her friends.
Her family has insisted that she was raped and drugged. Dacera's friends have maintained that they did not harm her and that they took care of her, especially when she was heavily drunk.
The medico legal report disclosed that Dacera died of natural causes. It stated that Dacera had died of a ruptured aortic aneurysm that was triggered by an increase in blood pressure.
De Guzman said they want the issue to be over as their lives are already affected by the incident.
"All we want is for it to be over. We want to move on with our lives. We want to restart it because we don't even know where to start..." De Guzman said.
"If there's one lesson is the fear of doing the right thing, we've been trying to help because people will take it out of context, people will antagonize you if they want to for their own entertainment," he added.
'Destroyed reputation'
Another respondent, Clark Rapinan, shared the same sentiment, saying that their reputation was destroyed after Dacera's death. He said their jobs have been affected too.
"Sirang-sira na po 'yung reputation namin. Gustung-gusto na po namin bumalik sa normal 'yung buhay namin. May mga pamilya din po kami na sobrang naapektuhan. Sobrang naapektuhan lahat, pamilya namin, trabaho namin..." he said.
Rapinan insisted that they are telling the truth and that he took care of Dacera hours before she was found unconscious in the hotel room's bathtub.
"Nagsasabi po kami ng totoo. 'Yun po ang masasabi ko, kami po ang nandoon ng gabing 'yun. Hanggang alas-otso ng umaga, inaalagaan ko po si Tin," Rapinan said.
"Siya po mismo ang nagsabi na gusto niya pong magpahinga, matutulog na po siya. Umagang-umaga na rin po 'yun, gusto na rin po namin magpahinga. We just had a New Year's celebration," he added.
