PNP eyes business-related motive in EDSA-Timog shooting
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday said it is looking into a business-related motive in the fatal shooting incident along EDSA corner Timog Avenue in Quezon City.
“Ang motive na nakikita po natin ay nananatili sa business-related ang insidente,” PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño said at a press briefing.
(The motive we see is that the incident is still business-related.)
“Ngunit dahil nga po ang nasabing individual ay businessman ng iba't ibang business, ina-identify na lang po kung ano yung specific business na kinabibilangan noong biktima yung may kinalaman sa pagpatay po sa kanya,” he added.
(But since the said individual is a businessman of various businesses, we are just identifying the specific business that was involved in his murder.)
One of the victims owned bars and small town lotteries.
Follow-up operations are ongoing to locate and arrest the perpetrators.
Investigators also received information from the public about the two suspects captured in videos during the incident.
The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday when two men riding a motorcycle opened fire on a white vehicle carrying the two victims identified as a 75-year-old businessman and his 51-year-old driver.
Police on Wednesday released enhanced images of the suspects. — RSJ, GMA News
