The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that the implementation of the expanded number coding scheme is suspended on Thursday afternoon, August 13, due to the rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.

In an advisory, the MMDA advised motorists to check on flood monitoring and traffic updates via its Facebook page or through the MMDA 136 Hotline.

As of 2 p.m., PAGASA issued a yellow rainfall warning in Metro Manila, Bataan, Cavite, and parts of Zambales, Batangas, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, and Pampanga, with the threat of possible flooding.

Malacañang also announced that government work and classes in all levels in Metro Manila and nearby provinces are suspended at 3 p.m. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/RSJ, GMA News
