Bar Exams continue on 3rd Sunday with fewer examinees


The Bar Examinations continued on its third day on Sunday in Manila with fewer examinees.

The Supreme Court Public Information Office (SC PIO) said on Oct. 31 that 8,245 candidates were expected to take the examinations on all four Sundays of November at the University of Santo Tomas campus on España Boulevard, Manila.

However, on Thursday, the SC PIO said only 7,691 examinees took the test as of the second Sunday of the examination, November 10.

 

 

The third Sunday's Bar exams will cover mercantile law and criminal law.

The Bar exams cover political law, international law, labor law and social legislation, civil law, taxation law, mercantile law, criminal law, remedial law, and legal and judicial ethics and practical exercises.

Senior Associate Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe is the chair of the 2019 Bar exams.

Malacañang earlier sent its best wishes to the aspiring lawyers who were taking the Bar examinations.

“We offer our sincere prayers to our legal aspirants who toiled day and night poring over their law books, court decisions, and jurisprudence in preparation for this life-changing moment,” presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement.

The roads surrounding UST, namely, P. Noval Street, Dapitan Street, A.H. Lacson Avenue and España Boulevard will be on stop and go traffic situation from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. onwards on Sunday due to the Bar Exams.

These areas will also be no-parking zones.

The Manila Police District earlier said 600 police officers will be deployed around UST on the dates of the exams for security operations, anti-criminality operations, emergency preparedness and crisis response. —KG, GMA News
