Sotto thinks Duterte should undergo re-test for COVID-19 after Año got infected
It would be best if President Rodrigo Duterte would get tested again for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after one of his Cabinet members got infected with the virus, Senate President Vicente Sotto III said on Wednesday.
"Of course the President should. It's best to always make sure that the President's health is primordial," Sotto said in a message to reporters.
On Tuesday night, Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go said Duterte won't take another test for COVID-19 even if Interior Secretary Eduardo Año was found to be infected with the virus.
"'Di na muna," Go said. "Ingat lang tayo lahat. Patuloy po kaming mag-iingat at parati ko pinapaalala kay Pangulo mag-ingat. Kelangan po natin ng matatag na leader lalo na sa panahon ng crisis."
Duterte has undergone the COVID-19 test mid-March. He tested negative for the virus.
The 75-year-old President is currently under self-quarantine and will isolate himself until April 7. —KG, GMA News
