Palace dismisses destab rumors vs Marcos admin

Malacañang on Tuesday said it has not received any information about supposed destabilization efforts against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

“Sa ngayon, wala po tayong nadidinig na anumang plano na destab laban sa gobyerno,” Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said at a press briefing.

(Right now, we have not heard any plans to destabilize the government.)

Nevertheless, Castro said the Palace knows where the information is coming from, cautioning the public to be wary of “fake news.”

“Pero even before naman eh, hindi lang naman ngayon ‘yan eh. Alam naman natin kung saan nanggagaling 'yan at alam naman natin kung sino ang gusto nilang paupuhin,” she said.

(But that information has been circulating even before, not just now. We know where it's coming from and we know who they want to put in the position.)

"So, tayo po, mga kababayan natin, sa mga taumbayan, lagi po na lang tayong magmatyag at maging mapanuri lalong lalo sa mga fake news,” she added.

(So, to our countrymen, let us always be vigilant and critical, especially when it comes to fake news.)

Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro Jr. on Monday also said no destabilization efforts were being monitored within the active ranks of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) amid the possible impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte. — RSJ, GMA News
