Department of Health spokesperson Undersecretary Albert Domingo has been appointed as executive director of the National Nutrition Council (NNC) secretariat.

"Effective July 14, I already have new assignments that do not include communications/spokesperson duties," Domingo said in a Viber message. "Maraming salamat po sa pagkakataong makatrabaho kayo (Thank you for the opportunity to work with you)."

"Ang aking new assignment ay (my new assignment is) concurrent Executive Director of the National Nutrition Council (NNC) secretariat. I look forward to working with you all in my new role," he added.

In a social media post, the NNC said it looks forward to working with Domingo to promote healthier communities and make quality nutrition a priority.

Meanwhile, the DOH Media Relations Division told GMA News Online that no one so far been officially appointed to replace Domingo and said that all inquiries be directed to the specific DOH division of concern.

Domingo's new post came after Jose Pujalte Jr. was appointed as the new Health secretary, following Ted Herbosa's resignation.

Pujalte served as president of the Philippine Orthopedic Association and the ASEAN Orthopedic Association and has been with the DOH since 1991.

Before his resignation, Herbosa was on sick leave for a knee replacement surgery. —RF, GMA News
