Magnitude 4.4 earthquake recorded in Leyte

A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck Leyte on Thursday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The earthquake occurred at 3:59 p.m. at a depth of 8 kilometers. Its epicenter was located 8 kilometers northwest of Capoocan, Leyte.
It was felt at Intensity IV in Capoocan and Leyte, Leyte; Intensity III in Villaba, Carigara, Tabango, and Kananga, Leyte.
Meanwhile, Intensity II was logged in Palompon, Ormoc City, Matag-ob, Alangalang, and San Isidro, Leyte.
PHIVOLCS recorded the following instrumental intensities:
- Intensity III — Kananga and Villaba, Leyte
- Intensity II — Alangalang and Ormoc City, Leyte
- Intensity I — San Jorge and Villareal, Samar
