Court issues arrest warrants for Sandra Cam, 6 others over Masbate vice mayor’s slay
A Manila court has issued arrest warrants for Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra Cam, her son, and five others over the killing of a vice mayor in Masbate in 2019.
Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 42 Judge Dinnah Aguila-Topacio issued on Monday arrest warrants in connection with the murder and frustrated murder cases recently filed by the Department of Justice.
Cam and others will not be allowed to post bail in the murder case, said the court. The judge set the bail at P200,000 for each of the accused in the frustrated murder case.
Cam’s co-accused in both cases are Marco Martin Cam, Nelson Cambaya, Junel Gomez, Bradford Solis, Juanito De Luna, and Rigor dela Cruz.
The cases stemmed from the ambush that killed Batuan, Masbate vice mayor Charlie Yuson III and wounded his companion Alberto Alforte IV while they were having breakfast in Sampaloc, Manila on October 9, 2019.
Yuson's wife, Lalaine, said her husband had told her that only Cam would do him harm. Marco Cam lost to Yuson’s son, Charmax, in the 2019 mayoral election in Batuan town.
