WATCH: Kanlaon Volcano spews ash anew

Restive Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island emitted ash anew, reaching 600 meters above the crater on Saturday morning, PHIVOLCS reported in a social media bulletin.

PHIVOLCS released timelapse footage of Kanlaon's ash discharge, as captured by its volcano observatory in Canlaon City.

The event was logged at 7:04 a.m. and generated grayish plumes that drifted west.

Alert Level 2 remains in effect over Kanlaon, indicating moderate volcanic unrest.

On Saturday last week, Kanlaon had four ash emission events that lasted five to 68 minutes each, aside from nine volcanic earthquakes. — VDV, GMA News
